flap is a 2.1 Insane Demon ultra-collaboration consisting of all of the GeoStorm members, especially kicked members. The idea of this level started off as a joke from nasgubb, who suggested that the first GeoStorm mega-collaboration should be a "Flappy Bird" level. Each creator built one pillar, and each non-kicked person would include a death message when a player died at their part. GeoStorm members who retired from playing such as Michigun and Skitten have also been a part of this collaboration.

Gameplay[]

Overview[]

The level has game-play similar to a classic Flappy Bird level, as the player needs to avoid plenty of pillars while being in a UFO game-mode. However, the twist in the level is that all of the pillars are different, such as a Nine Circles-themed pillar, burgers, a chandelier accompanied with a dinner table, or a monster. Some pillars are intentionally bad, such as the last one (made by Datchet): the pillar is composed of basic 2.0 rainbow decoration which rotates extremely quickly.
Each member has his own and only pillar, along with a unique death message when dying at their pillar (except for the persons who were kicked from GeoStorm when the level was released).

Detailed description[]

Note: As all of the parts separated are tiny, only the note-worthy parts will be described. The creators of parts that are not note-worthy will only be mentioned.

For the entirety of the level, the player will be a UFO trying to avoid deadly pillars, like any Flappy Bird level. However, each pillar has different decoration and the player has to survive all of them to beat the level.

  • Terron
  • Allan
  • Alkali
  • Shocksidian
  • Serponge: In this part, the player comes out of a (this time not deadly) pipe, transformed into a pink cube-looking character. The player then has to avoid some spikes. After that, the decoration of the whole part glitches and cuts to a black screen.
  • Dudex
  • Namtar
  • SlimJim
  • Ferdefunky
  • mbed: In this part, the player is met with Nine Circles-styled pipes. However, they cannot go through this part as usual, by passing between the two sets of spikes, as this will kill them. Instead, the player has to go through the bottom pipe which contains an orb. Then, the player must hit this orb that will teleport them into the upper pipe and let them pass this part.
  • TheDevon
  • Luqualizer
  • Disp
  • ChaSe
  • KrmaL: In this part, the player must go between red pipes while not touching the ground or the ceiling which have spikes on them. The little twist of this part is that, as the player goes between the pipes, the spikes that are on them will rotate in a very specific way that makes the spikes form text displaying "Krazyman", the old name of the creator of this part.
  • Loserchik67: In this palace-themed part, the player has to go between a chandelier and a dinner table, both of which are representing the deadly Flappy Bird "pipes".
  • Deltablu
  • Ryder
  • Zhander: In this part, the player has to go through the teeth of a monster, the monster representing the deadly pipes. As this section is pretty tight, an eye working as a purple orb is present in the path to help the player survive.
  • Echonox
  • Koolboom
  • Mazl
  • Drakaglin
  • G4lvatron
  • Codex
  • Viprin
  • Samifying
  • GcanitoV
  • Kips: In this part, the player has to dodge the art of Kanna Kamui from "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid".
  • Edicts
  • Jayuff: In this part, the deadly pipes are replaced by two burgers that the player must avoid.
  • Diimon
  • OrcaSN
  • Spu7nix: In this part, the player has to avoid two rectangular parallel pipes that are actually made of little dots that give an impression of 3D.
  • Samoht: In this part, the player must avoid two moving pipes which are actually dance floors.
  • Vlacc
  • GDSpeed
  • Darwin
  • Goose
  • Thomartin
  • Blaireswip
  • Erdyuri
  • Lumpy
  • Michigun: In this Temple-themed part, the player has to, instead of avoiding two deadly pipes, avoid a triple spike that is placed on the bottom pipe. In order to do that, the player must jitterclick to stay near the upper pipe.
  • RpgRaketti
  • Optical: In this part, the deadly pipes look like a cluster of multi-colored pieces of paper. This part kind of looks like an old level from Optical which was called Vague.
  • Skitten: In this part, the player must once again go between a monster's teeth. The two monsters in this part are both perplex and, the first one having a really mad look.
  • Koreaqwer: In this black-and-white part, the player must go between the two deadly pipes as usual, this time with lots of ":p" floating in the air.
  • Cicada 3000/Xnail: In this nature-themed part, while the player has to go between two green pipes, four bunnies and two flies can be seen on screen. After the pipes, the player must go down to avoid a saw that will suddenly appear in their path.
  • f3lixsram
  • Hinds
  • Aquatias
  • Pasiblitz: In this Touhou-themed part, the player will first see pixel-art of Patchouli Knowledge from the Touhou series. Then, they have to survive through the usual deadly pipes that have this time a much more difficult pattern than the others (this pattern may be a reference to the bullet-hell aspect of the Touhou series).
  • Rustam
  • Azertiop: In this part, the player must avoid gears that look like they are coming from A Daydream Journey, Azertiop's masterpiece.
  • Vultra
  • Weoweoteo: In this part, the pipes and spikes are actually made of invisible blocks. The letters "W E O" can be read at the same location as the pipes.
  • Motleyorc: In this part, the design is an homage to B, Motleyorc's most popular level. The player has to avoid the bees and the pipes that are represented by a beehive.
  • Etzer
  • Nox
  • Mabby: In this part, the pipes were made with 1.0 blocks and the only "decorations" are the logo of the game osu! and text displaying osu!-related messages.
  • S1l3nce
  • SirHadoken
  • Pauze
  • AirForce
  • Berkoo: In this part, the pipes the player must avoid become a pixelated grass platform and a pixelated rock ceiling.
  • Vermillion
  • AeonAir
  • DesTicY
  • xcy7
  • RyanAB
  • nasgubb: In this part, the pipes are a complete mess of flashing red and white and look completely glitched.
  • Ninjukin
  • Havok
  • Evasium
  • TamaN: This part is an interpretation of Super Mario Bros.' World 8-4, where Mario tries to jump on a grey pipe but is killed by a Red Piranha Plant.
  • Giron
  • BoldStep
  • Jovc
  • EpicLucas: In this part, the two pipes are represented by two old temples, the upper one being upside-down.
  • TrusTa: This part is auto and it is completely impossible to die there. It is a recreation of the end of the level Yatagarasu, with a text in the middle displaying "Papa nerf", a reference to the TrusTa nerf meme.
  • Then, regular text can be seen, displaying "From all of us, to all of you".
  • Datchet: The level finishes with Datchet's part, in which basically everything is rainbow-themed. The path here is pretty tight, making this part pretty difficult compared to the rest of the level. When going between the pipes, the decoration will begin to rapidly rotate.
  • Finally, last text can be seen, saying "Thank you for playing", and the level ends.

Trivia[]

  • The level cannot be copied.
  • The level contains 97,956 objects.
  • This level is the first official GeoStorm mega-collaboration.
  • Every single part contains a death message (except for the members that got kicked, according to Viprin.) All of the existing death messages in this level were gathered in a single video by Elzeko.[1]
    • Even TrusTa's part contains a death message, even though it is a part where the player cannot die.
  • The song is actually a remix of one of TheDevon's songs called "Yes", which csx42 remixed to make it sound like a futuristic experimental track.
  • 'Geostorm plays Flap' became a famous trend for Geostorm itself and also 'Geostorm plays Zap'.
