―SaRy

saRy was a mysterious South Korean player, level creator and possibly hacker in Geometry Dash, who suddenly disappeared at the start of Update 2.0. He is well known for creating one of the first mega-collaboration levels, Collaboration.

History[]

During the periods from Updates 1.3 and 1.4, saRy began to stand out in the game by appearing among the top positions, having, at that time, about 4,000 stars and 130 completed Demons. He went on to outperform other Korean players featured at the time, such as Cyclic and SuperSNSD (both currently active). He also played an important role in the Korean community, as he was the administrator of the official forum channel 'GMDW' (Geometry Dash World).

At the end of Update 1.7, saRy achieved more than 10,000 stars, about 310 Demons, all official levels (from Stereo Madness to Electrodynamix) completed and 99 secret coins.

As for levels, he had published two; one of them was an automatic version of a level called 'DemoNov' (1.6) and another, more recognized, called Hate War Fix Ver (1.5), a level with very little decoration but with difficult gameplay.

Update 1.8 had left endless possibilities, and SaRy took advantage of this to make one of the first mega-collaborations in the history of the game, and together, with his friends from GW (Dorabae, Ark, Xstep, Jax, Lenov and Xnail/RyooN), created Collaboration. It was a significant achievement at the time, as it paved the way for the major trend of mega-collaborations seen today.

However, what is widely considered saRy's best work came a short time later, in which, together with Neptune, the two decided to create Red World, a level considered 'impossible' in the update in which it was created, mainly due to having ship sequences with narrow areas and 'swing-copters' made from the dual-ball, for which requiring extreme precision to pass. The level also features the first known use of the swing-copter game-mode.

saRy dropped down the leaderboards during Update 1.9 due to his inactivity in the game, and when Update 2.0 came out, he changed his icons and made a post that said 'sometimes', which surprised people, because they thought he had returned. No one has heard anything from him ever since.

Hacks[]

There were two main causes of why people claimed that saRy was a hacker, and they are the following:

  • Record on Silent Club (70%): It was technically impossible for a player to reach a high percentage in that level in such a short time, also taking into account that the level had a cube sequence too difficult, in which the player had to quickly touch several blue orbs in a space equivalent to two blocks.
  • Verification of Red World: Because the level was exaggeratedly difficult to complete, it was unlikely that saRy could have done it before Update 1.9 came out.
  • Hate War Original Version: The original version of Hate War had a section during a physically impossible ball part. Later on, saRy would delete it and make a fixed version.

Levels[]

Unrated levels[]

  • Auto DemoNov - An auto version of DemoNov by Lenov.
  • hate WAR fix ver - A fixed version of hate WAR. It is his first level ever created.

Demon levels[]

Medium Demon levels[]

  • Collaboration (featured) - One of the first known collaboration levels in Geometry Dash. It was built and verified by saRy, together with Jax, Dorabae, Ark, Xnail and many more creators. It is a common misconception that the level was the first mega-collaboration (a collaboration between six players or more).

Extreme Demon levels[]

  • Red World (starred) - A collaboration with Neptune. It had a bug at 2%, making the level completely impossible to finish since Update 1.9, but it was fixed in 2.1. It is also the very first level to feature a swing-copter game-mode.

Deleted levels[]

  • hate WAR - A difficult level saRy created around Update 1.7, the level was deleted and reuploaded due to the 80% ball part being impossible. A remake of the same name was verified and published by Stormfly.

Trivia[]

  • He was ranked #1 on the Global Leaderboard for a long time (see Gallery), rarely swapping with earlier players such as LunarSimg, who quit in early 2.0 but has come back since; 3XotiC, a hacker who was later rumoured to have died in real life; zNymo98, who is still somewhat active but has lost his stats during Update 2.0 and is now only playing for fun; and Cyclic, a skilled player, creator and hacker who created the near-impossible level Sonic Wave, which went into the Demonlist.
  • Despite being extremely likely, it is not confirmed whether saRy was a hacker.
  • On his Geometry Dash profile, he has a message that says 'sometimes'. It is speculated that this means he sometimes plays the game.
  • Many people assume that 'Collaboration' is the first-ever mega-collaboration, but this is untrue. The first mega-collaboration for modern standards is Velocissimo by DaddePro and more; however, Time of Begin by Tutti, Blueland (also known as BEkID1442), Pailyn and blackP2Sfull could also be considered the first due to it being released earlier.
  • Optic Sunflow created a challenge level for him called SARY NEVER CLEAR back in Update 1.6. The level has since been remastered by KugelBlitZ and a team of creators.
  • For some time, it was believed he had at least six unknown rated levels. It was later proven false as it was discovered to be someone else who briefly changed their username and icons.
  • He was banned from the in-game leaderboard because many players within the community accused him of hacking.
