strange design and easier update for ranker

―MaJackO

Stereo Demoness is a 1.5/1.9 solo Insane Demon created, hack-verified and published by MaJackO. As its name suggests, it is a remake of Stereo Madness. It was verified using some of the earliest hacking methods available in Geometry Dash. This level was one of the first to have crafted art pieces and structures, and although they were simple, they inspired more complex structures in later updates. Stereo Demoness was initially released in its unnerfed state on 22 February 2014 and was considered nearly impossible but got nerfed in a subsequent update in November 2014. On 28 September 2021, KPGDylan verified the unnerfed version of Stereo Demoness.

History[]

Stereo Demoness was created by a Korean creator named MaJackO (known by many other names back then), a member of the GW forums. MaJackO has stated that this level was inspired by his 1.5 level 'Sibal' (not available on the servers). Stereo Demoness was released towards the end of 1.5. It instantly became one of the hardest levels ever released and rated, rivalling other levels like Silent Club and ICE Carbon Diablo X in 1.6 for having such extreme timing and flying requirements.

In Update 1.9, players began questioning the legitimacy of older Demons, and because of its difficulty, Stereo Demoness received a lot of scrutiny. MaJackO was likely aware of this, so on 11 October 2014, he nerfed all his difficult levels, including Stereo Demoness. Stereo Demoness got nerfed down to an Insane Demon from an Extreme Demon, which allowed Crack to become the first person to beat the level legitimately.

Gameplay[]

Hard It has been requested that this section be rewritten.

  • 0-7%: The level begins with a cube section where the player needs to jump over spikes and hit some orbs. Then, they have to jump and hit another orb without crashing into a triangle made of spikes. After this, they must jump onto a platform without hitting spikes, followed by hitting a pink orb to jump over saw-blades.
  • 7-13%: Next, the player must hit a blue orb, bounce off a pad just after, and hit two yellow orbs while trying not to crash into spikes hanging from above. Then, the player jumps onto a platform and must jump down to the next platform without touching some spikes. Next, the player needs to jump onto a third platform as early as possible to bounce off the edge of a fourth platform without hitting spikes.
  • 13-26%: After that, the player must bounce off pads and hit orbs immediately. After the eighth mirror portal, they need to use two orbs to avoid falling onto some spikes. After the tenth portal, the player must jump from a platform without hitting spikes, and after landing, immediately jump and hit an orb onto the platform. From there, they must jump and hit an orb above the spikes and between two mirror portals. Then, the player must jump onto the platforms and try not to run into spikes before going down and immediately starting to bounce without touching spikes. The part concludes with a yellow orb.
  • 27-35%: Following this is a short ball segment, where the player must avoid some spikes. Then comes a ship segment, where the player bounces off blue orbs, goes into a tight spike corridor, and must straight-fly through a corridor with tightly spaced spikes.
  • 35-43%: After the ship segment is a cube section with a few tight timings where the player must not hit structures above the platforms. Then, they must bounce off of two pads and then immediately hit an orb after the second pad. Next, they must jump over a few structures that look like a Koopa Troopa shell, with each half of them missing. Then, the player bounces off two gravity pads onto a pillar and must jump twice onto two more. This part leads the player to a fake where they must fall onto a lower part of the next pillar and make a tight jump near the end of the structure.
  • 43-66%: Next is a rather long mini-UFO segment where the player needs to spam to the ceiling as quickly as possible to go around structures with the appearance of a giant arm while changing gravity several times. Then, they must jump to the aisle with several blue orbs and one blue pad. They only need to bounce off the gravity pad and hit a blue orb as quickly as possible. Following this, the player goes to the aisle below and must spam above some bushes. After that, they must jump up the aisle quickly and try not to run into bushes on the ceiling and the structures made out of pads in the middle because they will throw the player into the bushes. Then, the player must jump into the middle passage. There will be a short ship corridor between two others where the player only needs to go above or below spikes. After this, the player enters a cube section. Here, they must jump onto a pillar, go down to the second pillar, jump from it to the third (if the player goes down, they will switch gravity due to a blue pad), and jump over spikes. Then, they must jump onto a platform with a ship portal. From here begins a small ship segment where the player must fly through a corridor, avoiding blue orbs.
  • 66-81%: After this, another cube section starts. The player must jump off a platform over a spike pit without touching a blue orb. Next, the player must jump to other platforms without jumping into structures and crashing into the ceiling. Then, they must immediately hit a yellow orb to bounce to the next platform, where there are two blue orbs and two pink orbs. The player could use only the pink orb or the two blue orbs by double-clicking to jump. A change in gravity occurs, and the player goes to the platform above, where there is a segment similar to the previous one, during which the player must perform tight jumps to get to other platforms. Following this, a gravity change occurs, and there is a blue orb the player must not hit. After this, there are platforms the player must jump on. Then, they must go down from the fourth platform to the edge of another one with a spike. They will fall off this platform and must immediately perform a jump over another platform. Then, they must jump onto the edge of a structure made of spikes and continue jumping as they fall from the top to another structure until they reach two yellow orbs. The player must jump onto the first one, land and jump on a structure of a human before hitting a pink orb to jump into a ship portal.
  • 81-96%: A very difficult ship segment begins. Here, the player needs to fly past spikes and cube portals. After that, they must fly through openings between saw-blades and spiked helmets. Then, they must go around 'swords' while changing gravity a few times. The player must fly through the middle passage between two 'swords'. Next, the player must hit a yellow orb and then fly over some spikes, leading them down to an aperture with spikes hanging from above. After this, the player must fly through a more complex opening, trying not to hit spikes hanging from everywhere. After this, they must hit a blue orb, fly to an opening below, hit another blue orb and fly through a narrow opening of a structure that depicts a demon.
  • 96-100%: Finally, there is a simple short UFO segment where the player only needs to avoid circular spike structures. The player enters a cluster of size portals and finishes the level.

Trivia[]

  • The level cannot be copied.
  • The level contains 6,723 objects.
  • The level's duration is 1m 27s.
  • Stereo Demoness was one of MaJackO's remakes of the first four original RobTop levels. The other three were Back on Mountain, Apologeist and Triangle Out. All four levels (except Triangle Out) were originally released in their unnerfed states but were all eventually nerfed.
  • There is another rated level called Stereo Demoness by Blending. It is a 2* level that is Stereo Madness with demon structures above the spikes. Some players joke about beating the harder Stereo Demoness when they beat the one by Blending, similar to Cataclysm 1 and sonic wave infinity by cerufiffy.
  • At 25%, if the player hits the yellow orb, the player will enter a secret area with text saying in Korean, '인간의 욕심은 끝이 없다' ('Human greed is endless') along with a saw wall preventing the player from continuing.
  • KPGDylan legitimately verified the unnerfed version of Stereo Demoness on 28 September 2021.[1]
  • Unnerfed Stereo Demoness is the tenth former Top 1 in the game's history.
    • However, worth mentioning is that the original Demonlist was started in 2015 by the player Loogiah,[2] meaning all levels created before 2015 were not Top 1 for the simple reason of the list determining the hardest levels in the game not existing at the time.
