―ZenthicAlpha

Supersonic is a 1.9/2.0/2.1 Insane Demon mega-collaboration created by Glittershroom, Jeyzor, Sumsar, Xcy7, DaddePro, Evasium (aka Tootti), Ggb0y, ZenthicAlpha and Viprin and verified and published by ZenthicAlpha. It is the first instalment in the Sonic Series, preceding UltraSonic. Supersonic was considered among the most difficult levels of its time, with several memory-heavy ball, cube and UFO sections, moderately tight ship and wave segments scattered throughout the level, and its notoriously difficult final ship segment at the very end of the level.

Gameplay[]

  • 0-6% (Glittershroom): The level starts with a double-speed ship segment, with fading blocks, spikes and saws as the obstacles. Memorization here does not play a big role due to the obstacles being visible for a short time before fading. Gravity portals also exist in this part.
  • 6-18% (Jeyzor): With the player still being in double-speed, they turn into a wave. Here, the player must spam accordingly and pay attention to the level because of the fake routes. There are two 'X' signs here, only the first one should be followed as the other will kill the player on contact. After that, the player turns into a mini-UFO with lots of fading saws. A click pattern is required here, and this part ends with the player having to take the correct path (which is the lower one).
  • 18-26% (Sumsar): Sumsar's part starts with a relatively simple cube section not requiring many timings. The player then enters a relatively tricky mini-ball section. Understanding the fakes and the slopes' physics is crucial here.
  • 26-36% (Xcy7): As a ball, the player must avoid fake orbs and hit the real ones. This section ends with a corridor where timing is required. Following this, the player turns into a wave with somewhat tight spaces before turning into a cube. This part also contains a skip located at the end (see Trivia).
  • 36-51% (DaddePro): The player, as a cube, jumps over a triple spike with a half-speed portal located above it before turning into a ship. This ship segment has tight spaces because of the spikes and saws. The player then turns into a cube again with a difficult timing before (once again) turning into a ship. Unlike the previous ship segment, this one has tighter spaces, and the player has to straight-fly diagonally. After this, the player enters a triple-speed wave requiring skillful manoeuvring. Gravity- and size portals are also located here, and the wave section is followed by a brief ship section as a transition to Evasium's part.
  • 51-65% (Evasium aka Tootti): Evasium's part is completely based on duals, unlike the previous parts. The first part is a dual-mini-cube section where the player has to jump, hold and hit orbs with the platforms all fading. The second part is a dual-mini-ball section where the player must continue to hit orbs. The player must be careful here as the timings are hard.
    • Note that there are two ways to enter Ggb0y's part. The first involves Player 1 on the top. In this case, the ship will descend lower, requiring the player to hold to pass. The second involves Player 2 on the top. In this case, the ship will descend higher than the first outcome, requiring the player to avoid holding for too long to avoid crashing.
  • 65-73% (Ggb0y): The player, as a mini-ship, has to fly through platforms while avoiding spikes. The fakes here make it less simple. The mini-UFO section following this is much simpler and does not have strict timings.
  • 73-78% (ZenthicAlpha): The player enters a double-speed wave section with lots of size portals located here. The spaces are relatively tight, so the player must carefully manoeuvre as the wave here.
  • 78-100% (Viprin): After manoeuvring as the wave, the player enters Viprin's part, starting with a memory ball section. The real and fake blocks here look almost alike, and the real ones glow a bit (if Low Detail Mode is not used). This section ends with an auto segment. Next is a triple-speed cube section containing fake orbs and difficult timings, followed by a ship section that serves as the final part of the level, full of invisible saws and gravity portals, often called one of the hardest parts of this level due to the fast speed and the tight spaces.

Coins[]

  • The first coin is at 4%, once you reach the second upside-down portal on the ship, you will see a half-invisible coin and a green orb. To get it, hold and click the green orb. It is very risky though...
  • The second coin is at 34%. To get it, drop down to reach a risky turn on the wave.
  • The third coin is at 76%, and, unlike the other coins, this one is easy. To get it, on the second mini wave segment, hold to reach the coin.

Trivia[]

  • The level is free to copy.
    • It previously could not be copied.
  • The level contains 21,372 objects.
  • The level is 1m 33s in length.
    • However, the 1.9 length system depicted the level's length as XL when it should have been Long. The level's length is now correctly displayed as Long.
  • The level has a sequel called UltraSonic, an Insane Demon made by the same team of Supersonic excluding DaddePro.
  • The level was ranked #30 in GDToday's 100 Greatest Levels of All Time list.
  • This is the only level in the 'Sonic' series with the "s" in "sonic" being written with a small letter in its title.
  • It is possible to crash at 99%, as shown in this video: Supersonic 99%; however, the video is a run of ZenthicAlpha's part to that percentage.
  • Supersonic is one of the first mega-collaborations in Geometry Dash.
  • ZenthicAlpha re-verified the level with a coin update but later removed the coins.
    • Supersonic received another coin update on May 13, 2020.
  • It is possible to skip the half-speed change and cube portal as a wave at 35.88%.
  • On April 1, 2021, RobTop accidentally deleted all of the level's comments.
  • Supersonic is the most liked and downloaded Insane Demon level.
